Transparency

I’ve run into so many people throughout my life. Most seem to be different from one to the other, but similarities are starting to appear much clearer to me now. Those similarities are what I would call filters which are made by experiences in ones life; be it good, bad or funny experiences. But none the less it creates a filter that appears before their actual self. These filters are held as shields for people who are probably insecure, scared and shy. They’ve depended on these filters to protect them from feeling certain emotions.

These filters are costumes that people have created for themselves, which results in people not confronting or interacting with the actual person. They are talking to the costume or filter of that person. The actuality is you’re facing many walls to get to the real person. How can you ever know someone for who they are if they hold so many filters in front of them?

So many filters and barriers have created false identities which hide the true individual from others and oneself. If you want to get to know people or yourself, you have to get past these filters. How can you ever know what it is to feel anything if you’re so guarded, cautious, and stubborn. One of the many parts to being a human is knowing your capabilities and strengths, but you can’t figure that out so long as the barriers remain intact.

Breaking down these filters is the key to understanding who you are. The emotions that come with the break down is only natural since you have kept them at a distance. Allowing to feel these emotions will help to mold and define you. The end result is understanding yourself and why you created these filters in the first place. So next time your in a situation that prompts those filters, you will have the understanding of why it would and know that it is not necessary for them.

Transparency expands your reach and shows you your limits. No reason to complicate it with the in-betweens.
