To-Do List

So I’ve done quite a bit on my website in just a handful of days thanks to having a tooth removed. As of now my website represents ideally what I wanted it to be, a blogging website where I can release my thoughts and have them documented.

Now that it is essentially done I can do some clean up and a few twicks here and there, just as I’d imagine is what happens after a house is built. You would clean up all the debris and materials left over that were not used or were at one point. So in my case there is bunch of classes that I have on my stylesheet that need to be either cleaned up or removed. I also have Layout elements that I placed on the Typography stylesheet and Typography elements in my Layout stylesheet, what a mess. But in my defense it was very exciting when I was creating all those styles and didn’t seem messy at all.

Next on the to-do list, I want to use a google site search instead of the default WordPress search which is ok. My main reason for wanting to include the google search is because I would be able to track on my Google Analytics what users are searching and thus would help me make updates to my website based on those search keywords entered. The other reasons would of course include that google is a very powerful search engine, indexing of my website and other benefits that I have yet to discover.

Third item on the to-do list, include the jQuery framework into the website which would help me get more familiar with jQuery and all its great functionalities. Initially I want to use it for images that I include into the posts. These images would zoom in on a users action on clicking the image and display a larger resolution. As for other functions that I want to use jQuery, I really don’t know since this is only a blogging website. So that is an avenue that I will do some research and see what functionality I can bring into the website.

Last item on the to-do list is add a sidebar on the About page that will feature a social media list of where else people can find me in the internet world.

That is my to-do list for czepeda.com, it’s not a complicated list which was my intention. The list is to help me continue to spark my interest in working with my website and create new ideas for what I can do or want do to with my website. So this could probably be a kick starter for a series of to-do lists posts.

So here is the list in list format:

To-Do List
Clean up CSS
Implement Google Custom Search
Implement jQuery framework
Create a social media sidebar
