Sleep Priorities

I enjoy sleeping like most people, but its hard for me to actually do it consistently. What I mean by consistently is that I hardly get the right amount of sleep my body needs every night. It’s a different amount of hours every night. Sometimes its five hours or four hours. The only thing that is consistent is the time I wake up which is at six a.m. every morning. How strange it is that I can consistently wake up at the same time Monday through Friday and even on weekends when I wake up to catch some English Premier League soccer matches.  But of course I do use my cell phone’s alarm to wake me up. Maybe I should also use it for an alarm to go to sleep. Even then, the process of actually going to sleep when your in bed can be a struggle. It feels at times that I purposely create obstacles to avoid getting a good amount of sleep. Usually what I’m doing is thinking about being a world class soccer player, bringing down civilization, ideas for my website and unfortunately at times I think about what I have on my plate at work. No one should think about work when your not at work. Those are some and not all of what my mind ponders on when I’m in bed nice and cozy and trying to go to sleep.

Sleep is essential to your health, especially mentally. I know by my own experience that it helps your decision making. That is almost an obvious reason why it would help your decision making along with other reasons like having energy. Which I think is the whole reason why we need to sleep is because we need our bodies to recharge. Eat the amount of food your body needs and then when its sleepy time, your body uses all the food you consumed and renergizes your body. But of course in my case it can’t do a good job of it if you only give it four hours of sleep. Well I try to put my mind at ease tonight as I get in bed and go to sleep. If you got ideas of going to sleep like drinking a glass of warm milk, let me know.
